Say a prayer but let the good times roll...

I may start updating here again. It's been a while, and I've really had nothing to put up, but who knows... I got this random e-mail about site updates and such, so I figured I'd check back in and see what sort of things were up. Seems like quite a few improvements, which is cool, so who knows.

So, let's see... what's new since May 17, 2007... dang, that's a really long time ago...

    Academic life

First semester of senior year actually went quite well. The main hitch class-wise was my 'Directed Study', which is Japanese III. Technically, it's a student pace class, but even though I was failing a good portion of the time because the clas was too fast for me, the teacher never slowed down. Oh well, a passing Final put me at a passing grade, so it's not like it really matters. Integrated is over, which, on the one hand, is a godsend since the course had too much freaking reading, but on the other, it's left an odd hole in my time schedule. Go figure. My other classes were fairly easy... Optics, Probability Theory, Band, Computer Science... easy A's.

That ended up allowing me, at the Mid-Term, to move off of that drated Pink Card, which, for those of you that don't know, removes our initially required study times and extends our curfew by half of an hour. It also lets us stay in the lounges a bit later than usual, which is always a good things. I hit the grade requirements for the next card (I'm on Yellow, next is Green), so I'm finishing up the other stuff, and I'm hoping to be able to hit Blue, which is amazing previlage wise. Yay!

And, now it's second semester, which means new courses. Almost all of them are easy ones as well. Creative Writing is one of my favorite pass-times, now as a class. The Second World War seems to be shaping up as an informative but considerably less time consuming class than I expected, so that's good. My Research class barely meets, which is good, but it means I actually have to be responsible and work . AP Stats may be easy, if I can ever hear the teacher (he's soooo quiet), but as long as I have the classes audio recordings, I think I'll do alright in the long run. It's fairly solid as a conceptual course so far. Band and Computer Science are like first semester, fairly easy overall, and Japanese III is being a bit more merciful this time around... or maybe I'm just getting it for once ...

The all imfamous college hunt is coming to a close. I decided not to apply to Yale, like I was going to. Part of my second-guess instinct, which is usually right (it was last time... I ended up here when I listened to it, and there's probably no place I'd rather be). So, instead, I just applied to Rose-Hulman and Purdue, and have already gotten acceptance to Rose, so I'm pretty much set for the other. Now to sit and weigh my options, figure out which one is better for me. Horray for Pro and Con lists... *sigh*

    Social Life

What to put here... This has always been a more difficult section than the other ones for me to fill out, but I've managed in the past, so let's give it a shot. Things have been going pretty well over all between me and Samantha since last update. We've almost been together for a year now (only a bit over a month and a half), and it's been amazing so far. The summer was an unusual time, since we went from seeing eachother many times throughout the day, everyday, to not seeing each other for almost the entire break (she got to come to my Grandparent's for the 4th of July though). Since getting back, we've been spending a lot more time together, so that's a good thing, it's a lot of fun to spend time with her. Since it hit winter, we can't go on walks or anything that entails being outside, but it'll be warm in a few months (being cooped up inside = bad...).

With the new Juniors.... well, at the beginning of the year, I realized how much different it is to be a Senior, showing the Juniors the ropes and stuff... yeah. They got the hang of it after a while, which is fortunate, and they've been doing great since the beginning of the year. I've made quite a few friends amongst them, and tend to hang out in their rooms randomly, playing games and talking. I mean, I stayed up the entire night before the ACT telling stories instead of sleeping... which was probably not the smartest thing to do (even though I got a 32 out of 36 ). Hopefully they'll have an easy time after we leave next year...

    Artistic Life

So, I've been working on quite a few things in this area, though few have really seen the light of day. For creative writings, I made a short story entitled 'Dark Star Rising' (and no, I didn't know there was a novel by that name when I originally titled it...) for the Writer's of the Future contest (which I have yet to submit, I'm still bummed about missing the first deadline I had, so I want to take time to finish it up nicely and proof-read). It's nearly 17,000 words (which is the maximum) and I'm hoping that it'll win once I get it in and the quarter ends. Regardless, I'll see about getting it all up somewhere for people to read. I like getting critizism back on things so that I can improve  .

For art and drawing, I've had quite a bit of work on my plate. In fact, I just finished up the last of my fifty some sketches for my comic that I am enetering into a tournament, so once I go back over them, and ink them, I am going to compile it (possibly color) and then enter it in the match against my opponent. I'll provide a link when's it's done. I've got a few other side pieces I've been working on, mainly a series of character drawings which will eventually make its way online one I finish them (which may be a while). That's not it, but I've got too many things going on to go into indepth.

That's my life in a nutshell... ('Help, I'm trapped in a nutshell!'). I may update a bit, but if I don't don't shoot me or anything. I just don't have the desire to sit down and write about my life as much as I used to... People change, right?

Catch ya' on the flip side!

It's Been a Long Time Coming...

And I feel it's time to update, since I've pretty much been neglecting my Xanga account. A few things to report, but nothing truly spectacular.

In Academic Life, quite simply, I passed my second semester of Junior year. Maybe not in the fanciest way possible, since my grades are anything but to die for, but, meh, I did alright under my crazy procrastination syndrome. So, upon completion of that, and getting through two beasts of AP exam (Calculus BC and Physics B), it's on to May Term. I got it pretty easy, since I just have to watch movies and evaluate what is good and bad science in them It's entertaining, and a bit fun, but not the most exciting thing I've ever done in my life. Still wish I had A&A

In Social Life, quite a few things have been missed here. I mean, heck, last time I posted was before Prom... yeah... Anyway, Prom was amazingly fun. My date, Sam, looked beautiful and it was a lot of fun dancing all evening. Good music, nice setting, and then the great follow-up with After-Prom. It was a very, very good weekend. The rest of the year has been hanging out with her, playing games with the other guys on floor, studying a heck of a lot, and sleep... plenty of sleep... But, I'm sad. All of the Seniors are about to leave us, and I really wish they didn't have to. I'll have to make sure to keep in contact with them.

In Artistic development, I've pretty much done zip. I mean, I got my sister's comp up and working, so now I have Gimp, but I have not really been able to work on anything except one piece that didn't save properly >_< angry about that. But, the scanner still doesn't work with my computer, so I can't do any sketches to put up. And, writing wise, I've pretty much been putting my abilities here in Role Playing, so I have not much to deliver. Sorry...

I may think of some more things to put up later, but I'm a bit tipsy right now, so I'm not doing my best at recalling things...

  • Not the best day so far. At least by school standards...

Just in Integrated today, and yes, it just started, I've already got bad news. First was my fault, I had a meeting yesterday and forgot, so Ney decided to tell me and the others who forgot that she doesn't have any time at all for the rest of the week. So, without a reminder, which I guess I shouldn't expect from her anymore, knowing her history in last second e-mails this year. Which brings up the second point. We got an e-mail about our readings for today, which said we were back on track for reading. But, it's a book that appearantly we were supposed to pick up. I never recieved an e-mail to pick it up, so I spent a long time shifting through all of my books this morning just not to find it. So, I'm frustrated already.

    | Edit: Okay, this just got worse. We had an essay to write, in class, about the readings, without the book as example. It's impossible to do without having access to the reading... |

Back to whole school stuff. Physics, I didn't do well on the test yesterday, but if I study up, my Final grade replaces this one, so it won't matter. I mean, it didn't even take me down a letter grade, and it was really low... Japanese was okay, the test was fairly simple, I think I pulled a decent grade on the majority, listening comprehension killing as usual. Calculus test tomorrow, so I've got a lot, lot, lot of studying to do for it. Rest of my night after study session. And, for Colloq as well, since we've got some trade talk conferance and I'm China. It'll be fun, but interesting. Virtual Reality requires us to have an example of our project set up for Thursday, which we haven't started... and there is a test also.

Artistic news. I'm planning on participating in a short story contest. It was brought up the other day by Sam, and it sounds pretty interesting, so after looking at it, I think I'm going to try it. Been working on another story in my free time too, but it's way too long for this contest already. For drawing, I haven't. Not in a while at least, because, even if I did, I've got no where to put it right now. Since my scanner won't work with my loaner, I can't send to DA...

And, I'm back to being sick. I'd type more, but I just can't at the moment. I'll edit later...

I Know It's Late, But It's Never Too Late...

Salvation is within reach. In my grasp. Just 65 hours away...

Spring break is upon us, and with that means mid-terms! Which is really, really bad for me, because I may not be passing three of my classes. It's up in the air. I was fine in Japanese until about a week ago, Calc I'm always not doing well, and Colloq got off to a rough start, but I'm definately getting better in it. I can pass by semester end, but if my teachers submit as is, I'm so dead in a week...

But whatever. It's not like it's the first time I've been inches away from death. This is nothing compared to 7th grade...

So, for updates! In class, maybe not doing my best, but whatever. Fun new word uses and phrases in Japanese, more stuff in Calc as well as a test that I may have actually passed! Integrated hurt today, because I was a day behind on reading and we had a pop quiz... yeah... VR field trip was so awesome! The 3-d rooms actually looked 3-d! Like, it seemed real enough to touch, and we tried, but it wasn't... you get the point. Praying this all will get better here.

Art... art, art, art... I haven't really done much. Out of ideas mainly, not much for holidays yet, and the requests and contests I have right now are turning out... blah... Maybe I'm just off my game, or not sticking to my style properly. Actually, I know I'm not, because I have to go out of style for some of these... But, a few failed attempts and I'll get it back down.

Nothing in writing, just recovered some older documents from an archive, including the remainder of my most complete story, Broken Utopia. I may get back to working on is, but I probably won't. But, if I feel like it, I am entering a short story contest.

Mostly, I'm just tired... everyday, growing more weary, despite that I'm getting 11 hours of sleep most of the time, 9 others... I just don't know. As I've heard it put, I was born tired and I still haven't caught up.

    I'm Adrift Without a Snowflake

Not sure what really to put here. There's been a lot going on here and I'm trying to figure it all out, so let's start, maybe at the top. Shall we?

Classes are doing okay, I'm guessing. Minus still failing Calc that is. I spoke a LOT in Colloq this week, so it'll help immensly. Int presentation was bad, but we knew all our stuff and answered every question, so I assume we'll be alright. Virtual Reality is going to entail building a world for the next month... well, okay, a town with a dungeon, but it'll take work. Japanese quizes brought my grade up a few percent, the test is going to murder me, and Physics is just fine and dandy. Wow, that was a mouthful. Geez.

I've been looking into art opportunities on DA lately, and I've found a few. I'm entering a few contests, so I may get those entries done and up soon. And, I'm being considered for artwork for an online card game, so that'll be really fun if I get it. and, another request possibly on the way, so more excitement. I'm hoping to get more stuff rolling over here, it'll make it happy.

Attended a basketball game today, at request of Sam, and hung out with the pep band. Some really good music, everyone was hyper. A bit of awkwardness, but then again, that's been happening quite often around here. In fact, there's a tally going to see how many people will make a comment. Well, anyway, I'm waiting to see how this all turns out. It'll be interesting...

Anyway, that's about the jist of it. Some details out, but whatever.

Catch ya on the flip side!

About Me

  • Well... let's see what I should say about me, eh? I'm a bit of a crazy person, bouncing around from here to there in the head and not very many people 'get' me, but atleast there are some who do. I like to do a lot of random things, so I've got my work cut out from me (boarding school = fun!). So, if you happen to know me, or don't and just want to talk, drop by, say 'Hi', and hope you have a good day.
